Make-Do Mondays is a carnival dedicated to sharing the creative, frugal or even humble ways we’re making-do.
Here’s my installment for this week’s Make-Do Mondays:
For Christmas I asked for pajamas.
I thought that would be an easy gift for the family to find. After all, if the size was off a little on a blouse, that could be a problem; but surely it wouldn’t matter with pajamas, right?
Well, the family gave me a very cute pair of blue pajamas from Target that looked like they’d work great until I held them up. We quickly determined that the tiny 100 percent cotton pajama set would have been a better fit for my slender 11-year-old daughter than for me. Plus, I have a history of shrinking any item that contains more than 70 percent cotton. If I kept that pajama set, I’d be donating it to the kids’ American Girl collection after its first trip through the wash.
So I sent off The Belgian Wonder to exchange it. He headed back to Target in search of a replacement. When he returned, he reported that the after-Christmas pickings were slim and pulled out of the bag the only option he could find. We unfolded what turned out to be a surely mis-tagged tent-like set of pink pajamas.
So I gave up.
Someday soon I hope to find something that works nicely and fits the budget.
For now, I’m making-do with my comfy old T-shirts and sweat pants, like I did before the Christmas Pajama Ordeal.
Hey, the sweat pants are pretty cute, if I do say so myself.
And even better?
They fit.
How about you? How are you making-do?
To join the Make-Do Mondays carnival, leave a link in the comments (Sorry, but Mr. Linky prefers only one post per day, and I already dedicated it to MMM). I’ll update this post by hand with names and links here:

Well, I bought a little set of pajamas at Target right before Christmas. With so many cute patterns and colors I just couldn’t help myself. They were WAY too small! We must have ended up with the “teenager” pajamas or something! It didn’t even depress me in the slightest because they clearly weren’t meant to be worn by an adult! I ended up with nothing! So I’m making do with my old baggy ones and some old tank tops!

Kim: Those have to be the exact same pajamas! I guess I didn’t have the same wisdom to realize they were designed for teens!
Heather: Love your post–I’m taping together my MP3 and making-do, too. Maybe that’s what I’ll write about next week?
50s Housewife: What a humble, sweet bedspread–and a great make-do quilt. Love it!
Leila: You’ve inspired me. I have a few pretty things. I’ll just stick them here and there and see if I can achieve the same appealing look!
Moxie: How impressive to invent your own cat box. Cool. You saved time and money. That’s the way to make-do!

somehow I got behind in my blogging. It seems like everything has been taking a day longer than expected LOL Here it is Wednesday and I’ve missed two MDMs in a row! I’m the queen of Make Do’s lol
I wear a V neck shirt and yoga pants as pajamas. When I purchased the shirt several years ago, it was actually on the rack to be worn outside the home. It is light pink with dark pink hibiscus printed all over it. I was positive it was a pajama top, but nope – you were supposed to walk around in broad daylight with that thing. I thought it was just adorable for a pajama top and so it is. Never to be worn outside by me, ever. lol
Have a fabulous week!
